Murtabak and teh tarik in Bangkok

Looking for a Muslim place to hang around after 7pm? Just head for the corner of Thanon Phetchaburi Soi7 where Masjid Darul Aman is located. Not a restaurant but open air 'mamak style' with tables and chairs on the pavement where you can enjoy the murtabak, toast with butter, sugar and milk and 'teh tarik' (tea with milk) while watching the cars, buses and tuk tuks go by. It opens daily from 7pm-12 midnight. Not to worry about language barrier as the waiters speak Malay and a little bit of English. Price is reasonable. A cup of hot tea, a glass of iced lemon tea, 2 beef murtabak and a piece of toasted bun cost THB95 (RM9.50).

Teh tarik counter. Other hot and cold drinks are availble, too.
Chicken murtabak, beef murtabak and 'roti telur' (roti with egg) are available.
If you walk about 150m in the soi , there's a nite market along the little alley (parallel with Phetchaburi Road) which links Soi 5 and Soi 7. There're many Muslim vendors here. Believe it or not...you can even get Ramly burger at a Halal burger stall here.
Hotels in this area: Samran Place and Diamond Apartment Bangkok.
Nearest BTS station: Ratchathewi.
Distance from Platinum Fashion Mall: 1km
