100% Halal Hotel on Ko' Lanta, Krabi.

Lanta Klong Nin Beach Resort Assalamualaikum & sawatdiikha, I'm posting this from Lanta while on a one week Songkran holiday down south of Thailand. Lanta Island is heavily populated by Muslims which makes it a heaven for Muslim holiday makers. I met many Muslim tourists from all over the world here, especially from France. There are many hotels, resorts and eateries operated my Muslims but sad to say most of these places serve liquor, too. Today, I'm elated as I came across a 100% halal resort on Klong Nin Beach. The rooms are superb for the price with facilities like the swimming pool & spa, besides a restaurant with a whole range of food: Thai and international menu. Muslim women have the choice to swim when it's dark and without the lights on. Snorkeling trips can also be arranged via the hotel at affordable prices. For your information, Greenhill tours is a 100% Muslim tour agent which offers such trips.

Sirida Place - Halal Thai Restaurant with Karaoke facilities

January 2012 : Unfortunately, this restaurant is no longer available.

My latest finding is a halal restaurant with a private karaoke room in Bangkok.

Click on the map to enlarge.
Coming from the city centre, take the Viphavadii-Rangsit Road until you see the signage to Soi Ruam Siri Mit, which is another name for Viphavadii-Rangsit Soi 3.
Keep left till you see the Esso station and take the first turning after the petrol station.
Go straight ahead till you reach yaek 15.
Turn into yaek 15 when you see this sign board on your left.

Welcome to Sirida Place

Tomklong kung

Kung orb wunsen

Khao phad

Seafood spaghetti
Beef burger with cheese is also available.
Karaoke session after a scrumptious meal in the private dining room.

With Khun Nid, the down-to-earth & friendly owner who claims to be the chief Janitor of Sirida Place;)

Daao Duean Steak Restaurant - Tha It, Nonthaburi.

Looking for a new place to dine this weekend? Search no more...

Daao Duean Steak Restaurant is located in the Province of Nonthaburi, not far from Bangkok. Coming from the city, take the Viphavadii-Rangsit Road or the expressway and head for Ngam Wong Wan Road. Drive towards the River Chao Phraya and cross the bridge on Rattanathibet Road. You then have to make a U-turn to get to the right side of the road leading to Tha It Road. Once you've made a U-turn, drive past Esso and take the first turning on the left. Drive all the way in till you see Mini Big C on your right and later Tesco Express on your left. Take right at the Y-junction. The restaurant is on the right, about 200m away from the junction and next to Pizza Company and opposite of Video Ezy. (Kindly refer to the map above)

Daao Duean Steak Restaurant offers both western and Thai dishes. The owner Khun Abdul Rahman, also known as 'Pawd' is the chef de cuisine. Below are some of the dishes that we tried during our first visit here today:
Cream of mushroom soup
Spicy seafood spaghetti
Mutton chop with black pepper sauce

Cheesy baked 'lala' with garlic bread
We were very satisfied with the dishes ordered and will definitely make a return with our friends soon.

The full menu can be found on the website but everything is written in Thai.

Sara Restaurant @ Nuovo City Hotel, Bangkok

The new Sara Restaurant is situated at the Nuovo City Hotel on Samsen Road. It's a Muslim owned hotel not very far from Khao San Road. The nearest boat pier is the Phra Athit Pier.
This 4-star boutique hotel is the new wing of the New World Hotel.
The deco is pretty cool and food is good, too, but a bit pricey.
If you plan to have a function where halal food can be served, this is definitely the place.
